43. . SP. New York Yankees. Masahiro Tanaka. 19. player

If Masahiro Tanaka decides to play Major League Baseball in 2021, the Chicago White Sox would be a great fit for him. He is coming off a pretty good season with the New York Yankees where he had a 3-3 record with a 3.56 ERA and 1.167 WHIP. He was a good starter on a good team which makes you believe that he would be a good fit for the White Sox.

Pitching behind a guy as good as Gerrit Cole became something he was used to in 2020 so pitching behind Lucas Giolito and Dallas Keuchel might be good for him. He would be that much-needed game three starter for the White Sox that they really could have used this past year. In fact, Tanaka was the starter for the Yankees in their third game of the ALDS and second starter of the Wild Card round. The experience is there.

The White Sox would be able to offer him a spot in their starting rotation which is going to be something he looks for. He would as mentioned before, be behind Keuchel and Giolito but it might be even more important to have him ahead of Michael Kopech, Dylan Cease, or Dane Dunning for a year or two. If Tanaka was interested in coming to Chicago, the White Sox would be wise to consider it.
