Chicago Cubs. Tyler Chatwood. 32. player. 9. . SP

Chicago White Sox fans might get mad when they think of Tyler Chatwood coming to their team. The thing they have to think about is the fact that he might be a better option than a guy like Reynaldo Lopez or Carlos Rodon at this point. He had good games and bad for the Cubs in 2020 but they are awful at getting the most out of their pitchers. The White Sox fired Don Cooper but you would think that whoever is hired in his place is an upgrade.

Chatwood also has some experience in the playoffs which is something of note. He could definitely provide something to either the bottom half of the rotation or the bullpen if they decided they need extra arms. This team is going to always need as much pitching to work with and Chatwood, in all likelihood, is going to be a cheap option.

The cool thing about a signing like this would be the fact that if he is good they can keep him and if he stinks they can let him go and it won’t cost all that much. If both sides are willing to do something like that for the betterment of the team, it is something to consider. Of the three, it is probably the least likely in the eyes of the White Sox but you never know at this point. There is no such thing as too much pitching.
