Prediction One: The Chicago White Sox will see a major bounce back from Yoan Moncada.

A lot of people know that 2020 was a tough year for Yoan Moncada on the field as well as off the field. He came down with the COVID-19 virus so he missed Spring Training 2.0 as a result. The issue was that when he came back, he wasn’t the Yoan Moncada that we have come to know. He was brutal in his rookie 2018 but 2019 was his breakout year. He was a top ten hitter in the league so hopefully, he can get back to that.

In 2020, he wasn’t as good at the plate and he claims that he dealt with a lot of fatigue following the virus. Well, it didn’t impact his play defensively as he was one of the best defensive third basemen in the league. He was nominated for a Gold Glove as a result. If he can bring that level of play defensively in 2021 with his bat from 2019, he will be considered a superstar.

Not only will Yoan Moncada get back to his elite hitting and defense, but he will also be better than he has ever been at either. He will become one of the three best third basemen in the American League that is consistently nominated for a Gold Glove and in the conversation for the MVP. Outside of Luis Robert, he is probably the most well-rounded player on the team and will take it to the next level in 2021. The White Sox need to make sure that he is healthy and ready to go for this to happen.
