The Chicago White Sox are an organization that proved they are about to do a lot of winning.
Trevor Bauer made a big statement when listing things that are going into his decision. One of the most noticeable ones was the fact that he wants to join a team that is trying to win a World Series. He mentions that his career is way too short to be on a team that considers rebuilding. Well, the White Sox are on the other side of a very successful rebuild that is a Trevor Bauer-like player away from being a World Series champion. They might be good enough without him so adding him would be so sweet.
What makes the White Sox a winner? Well, in 2020 they made the playoffs for the first time in 12 years. They did it because they scored a lot of runs with studs like Jose Abreu and Tim Anderson leading the way. Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, and Yoan Moncada amongst others are also there and those five should be the team’s best hitters for a long time. They also have what looks like an elite rotation that includes pitchers like Lucas Giolito, Lance Lynn, and Dallas Keuchel.
On top of that, their bullpen is so amazing. That comes after the addition of Liam Hendriks was made a few days ago. If Bauer joined a staff like that, they would be the best in the American League if they aren’t already. It has to be clear to him that this team is locked and loaded ready to win the World Series.
They have also shown the world that they are committed to winning now. They have made major trades, major free agent signings, and additions to their farm that show that they are in this for the long haul. Trevor Bauer’s hope of joining a “winning franchise” absolutely puts the White Sox in contention.
