1B. Chicago White Sox. Jose Abreu . 79. player. 128.

4. Jose Abreu is the best option for the Chicago White Sox cleanup hitter.

Some people might have expected Jose Abreu to be batting third but it is better to have him fourth. Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, and Yasmani Grandal are always reliable to be on base. They don’t rely on power as much as some other elite White Sox hitters so that is where Abreu comes in. He is one of the best RBI machines in the history of the White Sox. He led the league with an RBI per game pace in 2020 as he had 60 RBIs in 60 games.

Abreu’s efforts in 2020 won him the American League MVP. It was an outstanding effort by an outstanding player. He is truly making a name for himself as one of the best players the team has ever had. The two sides stayed loyal to each other over some hard rebuilding years and now they are reaping the benefits of it all.

Abreu has more talent around him now than he ever has. When he first showed up they were still a shell of their glory days in the mid-late 2000s. They rebuilt but kept him around and now he is happy to be there. Now we can only hope that he is able to continue taking advantage of the fact that there is some serious talent around him. He doesn’t need another MVP (although that would be nice), he needs to help lead this team on a deep playoff run.
