The Chicago White Sox could give up a mass of players to get Trevor Story.

The Chicago White Sox have a lot of good mid-level prospects to offer teams in trades. The high-end ones are starting to thin out as they reach the MLB level so they might be hesitant to trade any left away. Colorado, however, might be willing to take a load of good but not great prospects in exchange for Trevor Story. It isn’t like the return for Nolan Arenado was much better and he is much better than Story.

Blake Rutherford and Gavin Sheets are the 11th and 12th ranked prospects in the White Sox system so they are just outside the top ten. They will be well into the top ten when Andrew Vaughn, Michael Kopech, Nick Madrigal, and Garrett Crochet come off the list in a few weeks. Giving them up would be tough but getting Story out of it would be well worth it.

Jimmy Lambert and Yolbert Sanchez are good players too but they are absolutely guys you throw in to complete trades like this. Lambert is the number 19 prospect and Sanchez is sitting at 21. They are somewhat of longshots to be MLB guys but they are perfect players to throw in a trade like this.

Hot. Michael Kopech is looking very good so far. light

The White Sox are a great team at the MLB level and they have a decent farm system. Over the next few years, they are going to make trades that get MLB-level players for prospects. That is the idea behind this topic with Trevor Story. If it isn’t him, we hope the White Sox add a bat of some sort throughout the season.
