2. The Chicago White Sox bench players need to continue being bench players.

When it comes to getting Andrew Vaughn more reps, that means getting lesser players fewer reps. It is no disrespect to them but they just are bench players for a reason. Players like Jake Lamb, Billy Hamilton, and Nick Williams all serve a purpose in certain situations but none of them are helping the White Sox win over guys like Yermin Mercedes or Andrew Vaughn.

One of the things that need to change is the usage of these players. There is no reason that Nick Williams and Jake Lamb should be two of the three players that are trying to win the game for the team in the 10th inning. That is the type of player management that we saw when the White Sox were a 70 win baseball team. This team has hopes of winning 90 plus but that won’t happen unless this changes.

Nick Williams was sent to the alternate site when Tim Anderson was activated off the injured list. That is a step in the right direction for this team as they start to get healthy. Their depth is being tested without Eloy Jimenez and Adam Engel but they will be just fine as long as the right decisions are made at the right time.
