The Chicago White Sox are a really good team. On the back of four straight wins, people are going to start seeing it. Things should start to get really good when they play the Detroit Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field this week. Every MLB team deserves respect and the White Sox won’t win a single game if they just assume they will. However, based on lineups, they should win if they play the right way. The Detroit Tigers come in at 7-16 while the White Sox are 12-9.

The Chicago White Sox should be able to beat the Detroit Tigers in this series.

Lucas Giolito is going to get the start for the first time since getting shelled by the Boston Red Sox last week. He will bounce back and it is a good thing to get one here at home against the Tigers. He was supposed to go in Sunday’s game but they opted to get Michael Kopech a start instead. He will face Jose Urena of the Detroit Tigers.

Casey Mize is going to get the start for Detroit. He is one of baseball’s top pitching prospects looking to develop in the MLB. You might remember when he made his MLB debut in 2020 against the White Sox. He will go up against Carlos Rodon who is looking to continue his incredible start to the 2021 season.

The only left-handed starting pitcher the White Sox will face in this series will come in game three when Matthew Boyd takes the mound for the Tigers. Dylan Cease will look to improve on his command for the White Sox in this game that might see a lot of runs scored. Hopefully, this is a game where Cease is able to control his stuff.

Sweeping a series is not something that you should expect from any given series but it is fine for that to be the goal in a series like this. The White Sox see themselves as World Series contenders and the Tigers are early in a rebuild. Being on a seven-game winning streak with Cleveland coming in over the weekend sure would be nice. At a minimum, win the first two and then go into game three with Cease and take your chances against a lefty.
