The Chicago White Sox went into their game with a chance to sweep the Kansas City Royals. They were decked out in pink accessories thanks to Mother’s Day and they performed well. It was a little bit nerve-wracking when Lucas Gioltio’s tough first inning put them down 1-0. From that point on, their offense picked it up and Gioltio was locked in. They won the game by a final score of 9-3. It was a great way to cap off a really strong weekend.

The Chicago White Sox completed a sweep of the Kansas City Royals in a well-played series.

Lucas Giolito is one of the best pitchers in the league. He had struggled by his standards up to that point but earned a big win. He pitched well once the first inning ended. He pitched 5.0 innings, gave up one run, four hits, and two walks while striking out two. It wasn’t a typical outing in terms of the strikeouts for him but he got through anyway.

The offense exploded like they normally do off of lefties. It was everything they needed to complete the sweep and more. They are missing big bats like Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert but they are showing just how dangerous they can be anyway. When those guys come back they are going to be even more dangerous but for now, this is good.

The White Sox now has a big week ahead. The Minnesota Twins are having a tough start but they are a good team. The White Sox know they always play them tough so this is a big week. They need to take advantage of them not playing as well as we are used to following a big sweep of the Royals. They are all alone in the first place of the AL Central which is very nice.

Sweeping the Royals is what allowed them to get to that point. If they go all season in the first place now, we can look back on this series as the starting point. They are only going to continue getting better and healthier which is scary for the rest of the league.
