Chicago White Sox: Codify seems to be working for Dylan Cease
The Chicago White Sox are getting ready to use Dylan Cease again for a start tonight against the Minnesota Twins. Things have been going really well for Cease over the last little while. He started the season off where his control was an issue but he was still showing off his incredible stuff. Well, now it seems like he has the ability to control it a little bit better. He might be getting some results thanks to some help from Codify which has helped a lot of Major League Baseball players.
Dylan Cease is going to continue being an elite Chicago White Sox pitcher.
Codify confirmed on their Twitter that Dylan Cease was giving it a test drive in his last outing vs the Cincinnati Reds. They also said that Cease is going to continue working with them to see how it goes. This service has helped a lot of different pitchers by individualizing heat maps. There are plenty of all-star level pitchers that have used this.
In fact, Lucas Giolito and Liam Hendriks both use it. Something that all three of these pitchers have in common is that they were once looked at as people who couldn’t get over the hump. Now, with the help of the service, it seems to really be helping them.
Another big name that you might have heard of that uses it is Shane Bieber. He is the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner and has a good chance to win it again this season. Cease, believe it or not, has the talent to reach similar heights so it is good to see him doing everything he can to get there.
So far this season and going into this game against the Twins, Cease has a 2-0 record with a 2.37 ERA. He also has a WHIP of 1.220 and 40 strikeouts over 30.1 innings. Those are some awesome statistics so his 1.1 WAR in 6 starts is clearly noteworthy. He really seems to be taking advantage of the new information that he has and is using it to help himself. We know that Dylan has some incredible arm talent but just needed to go out there and do it on a regular basis.
It is always a good thing when players turn a corner but it is always extra impressive when they work so hard to do so. With Codify, it seems like something that can really help Cease out. Tonight’s game against the Minnesota Twins certainly isn’t going to be easy for him but it is another great test as the White Sox look to win their fourth in a row.
