The Chicago White Sox are coming off a terrible series against the New York Yankees. They were swept in the Bronx and it was also the first time this season that they lost three in a row. It was certainly tough to watch but they need to put it behind them and move on. There were some nice things to hang onto but for the most part, it is on to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals promise to have a great series.

The White Sox are going to face them for the first time this season. They are also going to welcome fans at 60 percent capacity for the first time this season. It is going to be fun to see Guaranteed Ratte Field loaded with people ready to watch the White Sox play.

The Cardinals are a great team. They are, however, coming off a tough series loss to the Chicago Cubs. They split the first two games against them and went into Sunday Night Baseball with a rubber match on the line. The game went into extra innings tied at 0. Javier Baez’s two-run home run put the Cubs on top for good in the 10th. The Cardinals are now following the Cubs back to Chicago to play the White Sox.

Lance Lynn is going to try and get the White Sox out of their current funk. When you get swept, there might not be a better guy to be on the mound. The Cardinals’ offense struggled against the Cubs as they only scored four runs in three games and the third game was an extra-inning game so it would be nice to see Lynn keep their struggles going. He will face Kwang Hyun Kim of the Cardinals who is having a decent start to his season. Hopefully, the White Sox offense getting going at the end in New York gets the momentum going.

The second game is the one to be extra excited about in terms of the pitching matchup. Lucas Giolito is going to be on the mound for the White Sox in his first start after his best of the season last week. He is going to face his former high school teammate, Jack Flaherty who is 8-0 on the season. The bats are going to need to be on their game in order for Giolito to beat his buddy.

Carlos Rodon is going to go for the White Sox on Wednesday and face John Grant of the Cardinals. This is the battle of two pitchers that not many expected to play as well as they have. It would be awesome to see Rodon continue his Cy Young level season against a very admirable foe.

The White Sox and Cardinals are both teams in first place that want to remain in first place so you can expect it to be a very competitive series. The White Sox needs their bats to wake up again if they are going to win this series. It is fair to believe in their pitching right now because St. Louis had some quiet bats against the Cubs who have lesser pitching than the White Sox. The Sox need to take this series in the worst way.
