The Chicago White Sox are actually dominant against the Minnesota Twins so far this season. They haven’t had a lot of success over the Twins throughout the recent years but that trend is over. They just completed the sweep over them on Thursday to improve their head-to-head record with them to 8-1. It has truly been fun to watch for fans of this team. Now, the White Sox will go into the weekend with a 4.5 game lead in the AL Central.

This sweep also pushes the Twins to 33-46 which is a solid 14.5 games out of first place. It is a tough scene for them but their pitching has let down their rather potent offense. They are now more than likely to become sellers as the trade deadline looms later this month.

The series started off in a weird way. Josh Donaldson of the Twins blasted a two-run home run off of Lucas Giolito in the first inning of the first game. He disrespected Giolito with his comments about the sticky stuff as he came across home plate and it woke up the White Sox. They went on to score 28 runs over three games off of Minnesota pitching and swept them. It makes you wonder what Donaldson thinks about his pitchers looking horrible as well.

The Chicago White Sox dominating the Minnesota Twins is extra fun now.

More than one player discussed how Donaldson did a service to the Twins by motivating the White Sox players. He had a few home runs as he is a good player but nothing good came for his team out of this issue. They are done for this year now and the White Sox are a big part of the reason why.

This was the first-ever Major League series for Gavin Sheets. He was incredible as he had his first career hit along with a few extra after that. One of them turned out to be his first career home run which was really cool to see. If he continues to be a solid option for the White Sox, their offense is only going to continue getting better.

This sweep ends a homestand where the White Sox went 4-2. They are one of the very best home teams in Major League Baseball which is very nice. Now they hit the road for three series before the All-Star Break. The first one will be in Michigan to play the Detroit Tigers.

It is another series against a team the White Sox have had success against so they need to keep it up. The White Sox sweeping the Twins is always so nice but it feels even nicer after the way things went off the field. It will be fun to see how they dismantle their team as the deadline comes around.
