Chicago White Sox: 4 players to cut when Jimenez and Robert return

It is an exciting time to be on the Chicago White Sox. As Gavin Sheets so eloquently put it, “this is the place to be right now.” The White Sox lead their division by nine games and are playing some of their best baseball of the season.

They have been getting contributions up and down the 40-man roster. Rick Hahn and the front office have helped assemble a roster with layers of good players. This depth has helped them withstand injuries to key guys such as Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, Nick Madrigal, and Yasmani Grandal.

Guys such as Gavin Sheets and Jake Burger have stepped up and made an immediate impact in the big leagues. Seby Zavala has managed the pitching staff well when he has caught. The White Sox have also gotten help from some unsung heroes such as Brian Goodwin and Billy Hamilton.

The Chicago White Sox should be getting a major boost later this month.

Adding to the excitement is Eloy Jimenez inching closer to return as he massacres balls in Triple-A Charlotte. He is expected to return during the series against the Cleveland Indians at the end of July. Meanwhile, Luis Robert is beginning his rehab assignment with the Winston Salem Dash.

They should each provide a huge boost to the White Sox lineup. With these two knicking on the door to the Major Leagues, the unfortunate reality sets in that somebody on the major league club will have to be sent down to make room for them.
