The Chicago White Sox played a very tough defensive pitching duel game on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, it ended with them losing the game in extra innings which is not a great outcome. Lucas Giolito, Aaron Bummer, and Michael Kopech did their jobs. Unfortunately, Salvador Perez caught a fastball over the plate and used it to tie the game. Extra innings obviously didn’t go well as the Royals left the game with a 3-2 victory.

Eloy Jimenez left the game for precautionary reasons but it sounds like he is going to be okay. That is a big bat in the lineup that needs to be there healthy. That is extra important right now because the rest of the roster isn’t hitting the way that we know that they can in recent days. Of course, it is just a slump but they need to break out of it now.

A lot of people want them to make a big trade and rightfully so. Adding someone like Trevor Story would be a great boost to this team. However, they need players like Jose Abreu, Tim Anderson, and Yoan Moncada to produce offense. We know they can because they have this season but things aren’t going well for them in the last few games.

They have one more game against the Kansas City Royals to try and make things right and make it a series split. Carlos Rodon is going to be on the mound so you can expect another good pitching performance from the White Sox. That hasn’t been an issue for them all season long. What they need now is a big offensive output. It would go a long way to see them score five or six runs and possibly even more.

The Chicago White Sox are a good team that needs to be even better offensively.

This team has what it takes to turn this season into something magical. They have already put on a show with tons of injuries. Now that they are starting to get healthier as the days go on, they need to start hitting more. They should get that aforementioned boost from trade and Luis Robert returning along with Yasmani Grandal will help as well.

Leury Garcia and Danny Mendick are getting regular at-bats. They are nice bench players to have but they aren’t the best offensive players on the team. Having an upgrade over them come in would really help. Regardless of who it comes from, they need to start coming through with their bats again.
