Chicago White Sox: Lance Lynn is perfect for this moment

The Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees are getting set to play in the regular-season game of the year. The Field of Dreams game at the site of the movie is going to be a spectacle for fans to watch. We can only hope that the White Sox have another good showing on national television like they did earlier this week against the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins.

There are a lot of things to be excited about when it comes to the White Sox in this game. Offensive superstars like Tim Anderson, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, Jose Abreu, Yoan Moncada, and Andrew Vaughn will face off against Andrew Heaney of the Yankees. Heaney was just acquired by New York at the trade deadline. He has a 7-8 record with a 5.45 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP.

It was originally supposed to be Carlos Rodon on the mound for the White Sox who would have done a fine job. Rodon is in the Cy Young conversation but it is better to make sure that he is fully healthy for the playoffs in October. He hit the 10-day IL to make sure to heal his shoulder fatigue.

Lance Lynn was supposed to go on Wednesday but they decided to push him to the Field of Dreams game which is great for the White Sox. He is the current American League Cy Young favorite which makes him the perfect pitcher to have to go on this stage. It is going to be a lot of fun seeing this man play in this type of game.

Lance Lynn is always the right guy to be on the mound for the Chicago White Sox.

Lynn’s 10-3 record, 2.04 ERA, and 1.047 ERA have him near the top of the American League in a lot of different categories. He has thrown 130 strikeouts in 114.2 innings. The Yankees are going to have to be at their best in order to even have a chance of getting to this guy. As mentioned before, he is perfect for this moment.

Of course, Lynn can also be confident that when he leaves the ballgame, if he has a lead they will be in good shape with their bullpen. There is a good chance that we would see guys like Michael Kopech, Aaron Bummer, Craig Kimbrel, or Liam Hendriks get a shot.

This is a big stage with a lot of pressure to test that very good bullpen in big moments. We can only hope that the offense supports Lynn enough to make this happen. The right guy is on the mound and the offense has everything they need for them right there to take this game.
