Lance Lynn of the Chicago White Sox is a legit candidate to win the AL Cy Young.

Lance Lynn has had a dominant season up to this point. He is a clear leader for the Cy Young Award as he has been one the best pitchers in all of baseball. He has emerged as the White Sox ace and the guy that they will probably lean on as their game one starter once the playoffs begin. There are other really good pitchers across the American League right now but Lynn leads them all in terms of impact this season.

There are some really good pitchers in the American League but Lynn finally deserves his shine. He is 10-4 with a 2.59 ERA, 1.076 WHIP, and 152 strikeouts over 135.2 innings (24 starts). All of that has equated to a 4.4 WAR which is incredible. After coming to the White Sox in an offseason trade, he has been everything they need and more.

Lance Lynn had something in terms of a minor injury so the White Sox took no chances and put him on the 10-day IL. He is going to be fine as it is paired with some much-needed rest. He is the biggest piece to the playoff puzzle because he is going in as their ace pitcher. There are lots of good pitchers around him but he has led the way so far this season. He deserves to run away with the Cy Young when it is all said and done.
