Carlos Rodon has been everything the Chicago White Sox need and more.

Lance Lynn has been amazing for the Chicago White Sox. He probably deserves to win the Cy Young the most because of his stats and innings (especially if he comes back after only missing one start). However, if he was beaten out by someone for it, it should be Carlos Rodon. The story that this guy now has is incredible and it should make anyone feel really good.

Rodon was a third overall pick that was looking like a bust due to injuries and inconsistent pitching. The White Sox let him go and then re-signed him later for way less money. He also had to compete for the spot as the fifth starter in the rotation. He beat out Reynaldo Lopez for that spot and then took off from there.

Early in the season, Rodon threw a no-hitter and then continued to dominate. He has a few fewer innings than everyone around him in the stats and that might cost him but he deserves to be in the discussion. He has an 11-5 record, a 2.41 ERA, and a 0.98 WHIP to go with 168 strikeouts in 119.2 innings.

That is a whole lot of strikeouts in a shorter amount of time. His swing and miss stuff will be a valuable asset when the playoffs roll around. It would be nice to see him get some love in the Cy Young voting as well.
