The Chicago White Sox had one of the best rotations in Major League Baseball. Lance Lynn was probably the best of the bunch as he had one of the best seasons in his MLB career. He was acquired by the White Sox from the Texas Rangers in a trade that sent Dane Dunning the other way. From his first start forward, he was awesome.

Lynn had Cy Young level numbers this season. He is probably going to come one start short of having enough innings to be considered for the award but he absolutely deserves to be thought of. He had an 11-6 record with a 2.69 ERA, 1.070 WHIP, and 176 strikeouts. All of this accumulated to a 5.4 WAR so you know he was magnificent.

He also has an attitude that is attractive to Chicago White Sox fans. When we say that he is perfect for the south side of Chicago, it is for how he plays and how he acts. He certainly has an attitude on the mound that makes you enjoy watching him. Pitching well and winning is clearly so important to him.

When Lynn strikes someone out to get out of a jam, the way he celebrates as he walks off the field is contagious. You want this guy pitching in big games for your favorite team. It was a pleasure to watch this season and he should be proud.

The Chicago White Sox watched Lance Lynn have an incredible year for them in 2021.

The White Sox brought him in to be another very good starter. He was everything they needed from him and more. It didn’t take long for him to become a fan favorite either. People loved this guy from the second he threw his first pitch for the team.

For some reason, Lynn has historically struggled in his career against the Houston Astros. That came out during the regular season and in the postseason. The White Sox were ultimately eliminated by Houston in the playoffs and Lynn didn’t have his best game. If he could figure out that one issue that he has, this team could be even better next year.

Lynn mixes in a lot of good pitches which are led by his awesome cut fastball. The White Sox are hoping to see more of this from Lynn next year. When he was brought in, he was a pending free agent after this season. The White Sox took care of that quickly, however, as they got him extended not long into the season. Hopefully, he comes back for year two as ready as ever.
