Max Scherzer would be an amazing fit for the Chicago White Sox in 2022.

If the Chicago White Sox are serious about winning the World Series in 2022, they should consider adding someone to the top of their rotation. They already have a few players that you could consider an ace on their staff right now but they all are good candidates to be a game one starter. None of them stick out as that guy who is just automatically in that role over the others.

If they added someone like Max Scherzer, there would be no question who has that role. Scherzer takes the ball twice in any given series and he does well through six innings or more in any particular game. He can go a few on short rest or start a full game whenever you need him. Over the last decade or so, he has been one of the best to ever do it.

A move like this would tell the world that the White Sox are serious about winning. In 2021, Scherzer was a finalist for the Cy Young award and came in third place. He split the year between the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers and dominated with both of them. If he could bring that level of play to the south side of Chicago, their staff would be even better than projected.
