The Chicago White Sox and Oakland A’s could make a one-for-one trade.

The Chicago White Sox may be willing to risk a lot to try and win the World Series within the next few years. Adding Matt Chapman would really help that cause. He is an elite third baseman defensively and he has incredible power. He would be a tremendous addition to this already dangerous lineup.

Giving up Andrew Vaughn would be painful but you need to do stuff like that in order to make winning trades. This would be a winning trade. Vaughn may become a superstar but will he before the White Sox close their window? You just never know.

There is also limited space for Vaughn when the team is healthy. It may be a while before Jose Abreu gives up first base and Eloy Jimenez is pretty set on remaining a defensive left fielder instead of a DH. That leaves very few options for Vaughn.

If he were to go to the A’s, he would probably replace Matt Olson when they decide to move on from him. That could be as soon as this year. He would get plenty of playing time which would be amazing for him on a personal level. It wouldn’t be fun to see in the later years but both teams could certainly get what they need from a one-for-one trade like this.
