The Chicago White Sox won 93 games on the back of their pitching in 2021. It was a lot of fun to watch these guys go out there and throw the ball so well on a nightly basis. The bullpen was great but the starting rotation was enchanted.

There were a few times where a guy had an off night but that happens to all 30 teams in Major League Baseball. For the White Sox, getting run support was hard at times early on as there were some serious injuries to consequential players but the pitchers always gave them a chance to win.

Chicago’s rotation in 2021 was a mix of some young talent, veterans that have been there and done that, and people who had to overcome some things to reach that elite level that was needed to win a division title.

Of course, the latter example was mostly Carlos Rodon. He is was let go by the White Sox after the 2020 season ended but they decided to bring him back right before the season. He had to compete for the fifth spot in the rotation in spring training and he won the job. From there, he was the best pitcher on the team when he was on the mound.

The Chicago White Sox is going to have a very good starting rotation in 2022.

Rodon is probably not going to be back in 2022 as he is a free agent once again. This time, however, all 30 teams know how dominant he can be when he is healthy. He dealt with some arm soreness at the end of 2021 so it is a matter of which team is willing to take the risk. Without him, this is the perfect Chicago White Sox rotation:
