Meet the Chicago White Sox 2022 Opening Day roster
The Chicago White Sox officially has their roster set for Opening Day. It is a team loaded with expectations as it gets ready to take on the 162 game grind that is the Major League Baseball season. This is a group loaded with talent that has no limit to their greatness as a bunch.
This roster has the usual suspects, some injuries to deal with off the bat, and some nice surprises. A lot of luck goes into winning in Major League Baseball but having a roster like this is a really nice start. Hopefully, this team is able to win the division and make a deep run in the playoffs.
If they do that, every single one of them will be remembered forever in this city. This town loves a winner and the White Sox are the closest men’s team in Chicago to winning it all based on the other situations around town.
Baseball teams are built on three areas. The batters/defenders, the starting rotation, and the bullpen. If you graded every area on the White Sox roster, all three would get an A. Every area of every team in baseball has room for improvement but the White Sox are in great shape because of these players:
Batters:
Yasmani Grandal
Reese McGuire
Jose Abreu
Josh Harrison
Tim Anderson
Yoan Moncada
Andrew Vaughn
Danny Mendick
Leury Garcia
Gavin Sheets
Luis Robert
Eloy Jimenez
A.J. Pollock
Adam Engel
Pitchers
Lucas Giolito
Michael Kopech
Dylan Cease
Vince Velasquez
Dallas Keuchel
Liam Hendriks
Aaron Bummer
Kendall Graveman
Reynaldo Lopez
Tanner Banks
Jose Ruiz
Ryan Burr
Kyle Crick
Bennett Sousa
The Chicago White Sox are going to be a very good team during the 2022 season.
Of course, you might notice that Lance Lynn, Garrett Crochet, and Joe Kelly are missing. Crochet is out for the season so you won’t see him until next year. However, you will see Lynn and Kelly in the not-so-distant future as they each try to work their way back from injury.
The White Sox had terrible injury luck in 2021. They aren’t off to the best start with that this year but it could be worse. There is time for those guys to recover and get back better than ever. They need less of their offense to go down with an injury and be productive this year.
This is one of the best White Sox cores of all time. They have never made the playoffs in back-to-back seasons until 2020 and 2021 so now it is time to make it for a third straight year for the first time ever.
This is also their chance to win the division in back-to-back seasons for the first time in franchise history. It is a much-improved division overall this year but the White Sox are still the class of the bunch. Hopefully, this roster is able to stay healthy and live up to the hype.
