The Red Sox might want a good young pitcher in the mix from the White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox have done a good job with developing their pitching over the last few years. That is why they might be able to trade one of them off for some help in other areas. This trade includes Garrett Crochet, Gavin Sheets, and Yoelqui Cespedes.

For one, Crochet is one of the best pitchers in the Chicago White Sox organization. He is out for the season after Tommy John surgery but we saw how well that worked out for Michael Kopech who might be a right-handed version of Crochet in terms of talent.

He isn’t going to be back until next year but that would make sense for the Red Sox since their season is basically over anyway. We can only hope that he gets back to being as dominant as he was before this tough injury.

Gavin Sheets is really heating up lately. He isn’t like a superstar young player or anything like that but he is just a really slid young power hitter. If he hit in that Boston lineup as a lefty at Fenway Park, he could really do some damage.

Yoelqui Cespedes might have more “boom or bust” potential than anyone in the White Sox organization. It doesn’t seem like “average MLB player” is in the cards for him. He is either not going to ever make it big or become a superstar.

The Red Sox might be looking for a little bit of that in their rebuilding phase. It isn’t going to be a long rebuild (it usually never is in Boston in any sport) for them but they have some work to do there in Boston. This might be a good starting point.
