The Chicago White Sox game against the New York Yankees game on Friday night has been postponed due to weather conditions. The game will be made up as a part of a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon and night.

The New York Yankees announced that the first game would take place at 2:05 and then the second game would start no earlier than 6:05. If the game ends later than 5:35, the second one will take place approximately a half-hour after the first one is over.

Going into the weekend, Michael Kopech was activated from the paternity leave list and they send Ryan Burr down to AAA Charlotte. That meant that he would pitch on Sunday with Dallas Keuchel going on Friday and Johnny Cueto going on Saturday.

Now, you would just have to assume that Keuchel goes on Saturday while Cueto and Kopech handle the doubleheader. With a lineup as powerful as the Yankees, the starting pitching needs to be on point in order to beat them.

This series between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees is huge.

Tony La Russa actually put out a really good White Sox lineup that had everything in the right spot. Days with that are few and far between so this one getting rained out is a real bummer. We can only hope that he does more as the season goes along.

Beating the New York Yankees is something that the White Sox desperately needs to do. They have a long way to go before the playoffs but New York looks like a team that could be in everyone’s way when October rolls around.

Saturday’s game between these two is going to be big because Tony La Russa has been brutal with doubleheaders. Guys like Leury Garcia and Josh Harrison get both games while guys like Yoan Moncada, Tim Anderson, and Andrew Vaughn sit for one of them.

He must be better here against this incredibly powerful Yankees team. Everyone’s day off comes on Friday now together. The attitude in this series should be that the White Sox need to do whatever they can to win it. If it means playing your nine best players in all three games, do it.
