The Chicago White Sox sent Lance Lynn to AAA Charlotte for a rehab assignment. It was much needed for him as he hasn’t pitched in a game since spring training. Now, he is trying to ramp it back up enough to make it back to Major League Baseball healthy.

On Sunday, he made his first rehab start with the Charlotte Knights. They were playing on the road against the Durham Bulls. Lynn had a perfect outing with them and should be proud of his first step towards coming back.

Lynn only went 3.0 innings but that is expected during a rehab start like that. He only gave up two hits and no runs in those three innings. He also managed to have no walks and three strikeouts so it is clear that he was about as dominant as you’d expect.

We know that Lynn is an amazing pitcher. That is evident in his previous few seasons including 2021 where he was a Cy Young candidate. When they get him back in the rotation, it is going to be so much better off.

The Chicago White Sox needs to get lance Lynn back as soon as possible.

Immediately after the Knights took Lynn out, they gave up four runs one inning later. It is clear that Lynn was able to dominate the AAA Durham lineup with ease. If he was able to go more, they probably wouldn’t have lost 4-2 as they did.

The White Sox are going to be getting a big piece back to their rotation with Lynn. He will join Lucas Giolito, Dylan Cease, Michael Kopech, and Johnny Cueto. When healthy and pitching to its strengths, it can be one of the best in the American League.

Each of those guys takes the pressure off the next. With Dallas Keuchel out of the equation, it is clear that Lynn is going to be needed this season. His first rehab start going well is huge for this organization as they needed something good to happen to them.

It is unclear how long Lynn will be down there but it shouldn’t be all that long. He is eligible to come off the Injured List on June 6th which is less than a week away. Hopefully, he joins a team that is feeling good about themselves and starts winning with them.
