3 White Sox that deserve the Dallas Keuchel DFA treatment

The Chicago White Sox are a team that has had ups and downs so far in 2022. As a result, they have mostly been a .500 team. One thing they have done that is good so far this season is DFA Dallas Keuchel. He was awful and they finally cut bait with him.

Keuchel ends his 2022 White Sox season with a 7.88 ERA and 2.156 WHIP. His horrid stats all lined up to a -1.2 WAR which is just bad. The White Sox were far off with him in the lineup and they have some unnecessary losses because of it.

The good news is that the White Sox clearly showed that they are serious about winning. Whether they start doing that or not is a different story but we can only hope. There are plenty of other players deserving of this Dallas Keuchel DFA treatment.

It is time for the Chicago White Sox to end the Josh Harrison experiment.

The Chicago White Sox should already acknowledge that Josh Harrison isn’t it for them. They thought that he might be able to come in on the cheap and provide a solid second baseman for the squad as they look to take the next step.

So far, he has been bad. In 99 at-bats, he has a .172 batting average and a .518 OPS. He doesn’t have a home run yet and only three RBIs. That is not going to cut it for what should be a championship-caliber team.

This team needs to do even more to show that they are serious about competing. Cutting Josh Harrison and letting someone better take his spot would really go a long way. It is sad but he just doesn’t give enough offense.

It might be wise for Aaron Bummer to be DFA’d by the Chicago White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox are a team that is supposed to have an elite bullpen. They have been very good for most of the season but there have been some moments where they make you really question them. Few have been as up and down as Aaron Bummer.

It isn’t necessarily likely, but they shuld consider cutting ties with Aaron Bummer if he continues to struggle down the stretch. He has been better lately which should keep him in the bullpen but you just never know anymore.

Bummer does suffer from bad luck because of the nature of his sinking pitches but that isn’t always an excuse. There is no doubt that when it’s on, his stuff is nasty and very difficult to hit. We just need to see more of it in order for him to avoid the Dallas Keuchel treatment.

There isn’t a high likelihood that any of these guys are let go before the end of the season but it might be something to consider if things don’t turn around for the team. All people want to see is the White Sox get back into contention. We know this roster has talent but they aren’t maximizing it.
