The Chicago White Sox have done thier fair share of prospect managing over the last few years. It was always exciting when these guys got called up as it is a sign of things to come in the future. There is a division rival that is going to experience that on Saturday.

The Detroit Tigers are one of the most disappointing teams so far this season. There were a lot of people that believed that they were going to take a big step in 2022 but it hasn’t happened yet. Now, they are all about continuing to build for the future while playing better in the present.

Calling up a big-time prospect is something that can help them with both of those ideas. The Tigers are calling up Riley Greene who is currently listed as their number one prospect on MLB dot com. He is an outfielder that is known to be a very good power hitter.

According to MLB Pipeline, he is the number two prospect in all of baseball. He is one spot behind Adley Rutschman of the Baltimore Orioles who has been in the Major Leagues for a couple of weeks now. As a result, Greene is the highest-rated prospect not in the show.

The Chicago White Sox will certainly get to see Riley Greene soon enough.

He is going to be their centerfielder. He was going to be their Opening Day centerfielder but an injury kept him from earning that job. The White Sox didn’t have to face him in that series as a result.

The White Sox swept the Tigers earlier in the week so they just missed him. In fact, the domination of that team might have made them come to the decision to make this move but that is just pure speculation. He deserved to come up either way.

The White Sox, if he stays in the Majors, will have a chance to face off against him on July 7th when the Tigers come to Guaranteed Rate Field for four games. That will surely be exciting for White Sox fans that also follow prospects around the league as he is one of the best. Hopefully, he has some success when he comes up unless he is playing against our Sox.
