Tim Anderson is in Chicago White Sox lineup on Monday
The Chicago White Sox have been missing Tim Anderson for a few weeks now. It hasn’t been great without him but they didn’t completely fall off a cliff either. They are actually getting better offensively as the season goes along so getting him back is going to really help.
For Monday night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays, he is officially back. He will be leading off and playing shortstop for the White Sox in the first game of this three-game set. They finally have their guys back ready to go and set the tone.
As we have come to learn, the White Sox goes where he goes. He drives the bus of this offense and it will be good to have him back in the lineup. It will also take out players that shouldn’t be in the lineup at all and push everyone down a spot.
The whole lineup improves with Anderson at the top. Now, they can have both AJ Pollack and Danny Mendick lower in the lineup which will create more offensive depth. With some of the guys in the middle like Luis Robert, Andrew Vaughn, and Jose Abreu getting hot, this is great news.
Tim Anderson helps the Chicago White Sox win baseball games in every way.
The White Sox need their offense to score lots of runs to compliment what has been mostly good pitching staff. With a guy like Lance Lynn on the mound for this one, you have to hope that Anderson can help them keep the pace with an offensive wagon like Toronto.
In order to make room for Anderson on the roster, they placed Yoan Moncada on the Injured List. Moncada is dealing with a hamstring issue that caused him to leave Friday night’s game early. He was just starting to look good at the plate before this happened.
Moncada made it on the 10-day edition of the Injured List and it is retroactive to 6/18. This isn’t the best news for him but he will be back soon enough. With a player like Moncada, it is better to get him back to 100 percent.
Getting Anderson back is big though. They need him in order to take down this really good Toronto Blue Jays team. Jake Burger will play third base for Moncada in this first game against them.
Danny Mendick should see some time at second base now that Anderson is back but they opted with Josh Harrison in the first one. Hopefully, getting Anderson back helps them string together some wins now.
