The Chicago White Sox are a great team that has gotten off to a mediocre start. They have a long way to go before this season is over but they need to kick it into gear fast. There are a few things to address before the trade deadline to help them get there.

Of course, second base has been a need for a long time now. Josh Harrison, Leury Garcia, and Danny Mendick are all capable of playing the position but they would love to have a true starter on an everyday basis.

Someone to consider is Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the Miami Marlins. He is becoming a superstar in Major League Baseball but not everyone on his team appreciates his electricity. He is a very good player that enjoys the entertainment factor of baseball as well.

The Miami Marlins are not going to be a playoff team anytime soon so the idea of them trading him is certainly on the table. They had a team meeting to criticize him for the way that he plays which makes it seem like he doesn’t gel there. There are plenty of teams that would love him.

The Chicago White Sox should strongly consider trading for Jazz Chisholm Jr.

He’d be a perfect fit on the White Sox. This fanbase would embrace him as well as they have any new player in the last 10 years. The fact that he is an elite player that also plays a position of need makes him a perfect match. These are three trade packages that may get it done for the White Sox:

The Chicago White Sox could consider trading Eloy Jimenez for Jazz Chisholm Jr.

The Chicago White Sox and everyone who follows baseball know that Eloy Jimenez is a very good baseball player. He is very below average to bad in the outfield but he has the potential to be an elite hitter. He has shown flashes of some of the best power the White Sox have ever had.

His big problem is that he is becoming known as injury-prone. That is not good news as you don’t help your team do anything if you aren’t on the field. Jimenez is amazing when he’s on the field but he has been hurt more often than not in the past few years.

However, the Marlins could take one look at him and see a player who can be Hall of Fame good if he just stays healthy. It is also probably fair to say that they are also a better-equipped training staff when it comes to keeping their players healthy and on the field while the White Sox have a newly injured player a week.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is a very good player that could be worth it for Eloy. He would need to stay healthy as well to become worthy of this trade but right now, he helps his team win more and he plays a position of need. It is certainly something for each side to consider.

The Chicago White Sox could give up a huge haul to land Jazz Chisholm Jr.

The Chicago White Sox has a lot of time and money invested in Yoan Moncada. He is the face of the rebuild as he was the headlining piece (number one baseball prospect in the world) of the Chris Sale trade. Everything changed the moment he made his MLB debut.

Unfortunately, he has been a very good player at times but he has been very inconsistent. He takes a lot of heat for the way he plays, in particular the production at the plate. He is an elite third baseman when it comes to defense but that isn’t enough for people to love him.

Moncada has a lot of physical tools but he doesn’t get the most out of them most of the time. That might be why the White Sox try to trade him in a deal that gets them something they need. They plenty of options to play third base in Moncada’s place.

Sending him to Miami along with prospects like Yoelqui Cespedes and Norge Vera for Jazz Chisholm Jr. could really help the White Sox take that next step. It is a large haul for the Marlins but they would have to decide if it was worth it for Chisholm Jr. For the White Sox, it is something to consider because of how close they are to being a World Series threat.

Miami could want quantity when it comes to trading with the Chicago White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox don’t have the deepest farm system in the league right now. In fact, it is one of the barest. However, that doesn’t mean that now of their guys are going to be really good MLB players. There are a few that could actually go on to be really good players one day.

For Jazz Chisholm Jr., Jake Burger could headline a package going back to the Marlins. He has been very good since coming up from AAA in 2021. He has been up and down because of the team’s depth but he has been on the roster for most of 2022. For most of it, he was a top hitter on this team.

Miami would love to add back a hitter like Burger if they were forced to trade Chisholm Jr. They would also love adding four really good prospects like Colson Montgomery, Oscar Colas, and Wes Kath. All of these guys (including Burger) are very young and have a long way to go.

Getting them in the organization would really help any team that is rebuilding right now. The White Sox should have o problem moving players like that if it means getting Jazz Chisholm Jr. on their team.

We don’t know for sure if he is going to be dealt but it is easy to speculate after the team has a meeting criticizing him. The White Sox also needs a top-flight second baseman right now and he is definitely that. His future is both bright and intriguing.
