The Chicago White Sox were brutal in their first two games against the Minnesota Twins. They lost the first game because they beat themselves and then had no fight in the second game. They were in serious danger of a sweep which would have put them 7.5 games out of first place.

Instead, they are only 5.5 games out because of a solid performance for the offense. Lance Lynn started on the mound but he didn’t really have that good of a game. He gave up five runs on six hits with two walks. We know how good he can be but this wasn’t it for him.

Kendall Graveman and Matt Foster each gave up some runs as well. The White Sox don’t usually win games in which they give up eight runs. However, the offense came to play which is the reason they won the ballgame.

Before the game, the White Sox activated Eloy Jimenez as he has been out since April 23rd. He is clearly someone who can make an impact on the team and he showed just that in this game. He had two hits including a home run for 3 RBI. It was an outstanding game for him in his return.

The Chicago White Sox certainly got a spark from Eloy Jimenez in this one.

Luis Robert also hit a home run that tied the game just like Eloy an inning prior to that. Later in the game when they needed two runs, Andrew Vaughn hit one out that scored two as well. The game went to extra innings because of this and the ending was legendary.

With Adam Engel as the ghost runner on second base, he got to third on a past ball and Josh Harrison walked on the same play. Leury Garcia came up to bat and hit Engel in to give the White Sox a walk-off win. It was another big hit for Garcia as he is starting to come along.

The White Sox finally hit a few home runs in this game. They need to score more runs and the offense not hitting a lot of home runs is to blame. We know what these guys are capable of doing and it was on display in this one.

Yoan Moncada did leave the game early because of the fact that he fouled a ball off his foot. It was a foot contusion and his X-rays were negative. This should be something that is healed quickly which means Moncada will be back out there soon enough.

Jimenez seemed to change the dynamic of the entire lineup. When Yasmani Grandal returns, if he can play as well as he did in 2021, this group will start to be a high-volume lineup once again. Dylan Cease will be on the mound on Tuesday when the White Sox try to keep the good vibes going against the Detroit Tigers.
