The Chicago White Sox might be able to get Jose Quintana in a one-for-one swap.

Jose Quintana was a great player for the Chicago White Sox. He will always be remembered in town for the trade that landed the White Sox Dylan Cease and Eloy Jimenez but there is no doubt that he was great.

If they think that highly of him still here in 2022, they might give up a player that they like in order to avoid giving up more than one. Lenyn Sosa went from AA straight to MLB earlier this season and now that is looking like it was a mistake.

Instead of making a stop in AAA, he made the double jump. He didn’t last long in the MLB (and Tony La Russa hardly even used him) so he went down to AAA after that stint. Now, he is having his very predictable struggles there too.

He should have gone straight to AAA and the White Sox should have figured something else out when Danny Mendick went down. Injuries happen and you can’t hurt other players’ development in the meantime.

A change of scenery with the Pirates could be just what the doctor ordered for Sosa at this point as he tries to continue his development. Getting Quintana for only one prospect might be worth it if they want to hang on to as many as possible.

This is a trade that could very well go down so it will be interesting to see what it actually takes.
