The Chicago White Sox could be in the market to bring back an old friend.

The Chicago White Sox traded Jose Quintana to the Chicago Cubs in 2017 in exchange for Dylan Cease, Eloy Jimenez, and two other prospects. Now, Cease is their ace and Jimenez is one of their starting outfielders. It is a trade that worked out well for the Sox.

Now, it could be a team that looks to bring him back. It would certainly be wild to see Cease and Quintana in the same rotation but it is possible. He has had a very resurgent year with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2022. He deserves respect for the way he has performed this season.

There are going to be people who don’t like the idea of it but the fact is that he has been very good this year on a bad team. He would be a perfect risk for a team trying to add as many pitchers as they can for the stretch run.

Quintana would probably be the number six on the team right now but with Michael Kopech’s innings limit, it could work. They have to get into the playoffs for any of that strategy to matter and Quintana is proving that he can help a good team get there.
