The Chicago White Sox have had a tough year. However, they are still in the race and need huge starts from all their pitchers. On Thursday against the Cleveland Guardians, there was no bigger start needed. Lance Lynn fully came through for them when they needed him most.

In a game against the team that they are trailing for the division lead, the White Sox pulled out a big win. The offense scored eight runs on the back of some big-time home runs. For the most part, everyone did their job. However, it was an especially good start for Lynn.

He went 6.1 innings where he gave up just two runs on six hits and a walk. He also had six strikeouts. There is no doubt that the second half of the season has been amazing for Lance Lynn after taking a while to get it going following his injury.

Lynn brings more than just elite pitching when he is at his best. He also brings an attitude that is good for this team when they need it. They didn’t have Dylan Cease available so they pushed Lucas Giolito back and used Lynn. The off days made him have enough rest to do so.

The Chicago White Sox needed Lance Lynn at the top of his game in a must-win.

Having a guy like Lynn is a luxury. As mentioned before, he has the attitude needed to pitch in big spots like that to go with his insane ability to pitch. He knows how to be a strikeout pitcher and he knows how to do what he needs to do to win.

Now, going forward, the pitchers on this staff need to carry that forward. We need to see the best version of Lucas Giolito. Michael Kopech, Johnny Cueto, and Dylan Cease need to continue with their good seasons as well. If they do, there is a shot at the postseason this year.

The Chicago White Sox have a hard road ahead of them. They have three more games against those Guardians next week and they are going to need the pitchers to be on top of their games. First and foremost, they need to win a big series against the Detroit Tigers.
