We now know for sure that Tony La Russa is going to be retired again after this season is over. His health condition took him away from the Chicago White Sox at the end of August and he has not returned. Obviously, we hope that he is okay.

In terms of baseball, this is something that will help the organization try and take a step forward. He wasn’t the best fit for the manager anymore and probably never was in his second stint with the team. They need someone to come in that can bring the sense of urgency needed.

Of course, we know what Ozzie Guillen did for the White Sox in 2005. He is the only living human being that has ever led the Chicago White Sox to a World Series championship. It was the greatest moment in franchise history.

With that in mind, that doesn’t mean that he is guaranteed t be the best option available for the team next year. It also doesn’t mean that he isn’t the best option either. He hasn’t managed in a long time but it is fairly obvious that he is itching to get back in the dugout.

He interviewed for the San Diego Padres job over the offseason but didn’t get the job. Now, it sounds like he would listen if the Chicago White Sox called him. He has some feelings about it but he certainly thinks he is the man for the job.

Ozzie Guillen is someone for the Chicago White Sox to think about for a manager.

These days, Ozzie hosts the pre and postgame show on NBC Sports Chicago. He is very vocal about his feelings a lot of the time and he clearly has a passion for the squad on the field. He is always honest and candid with his responses to questions in regard to the team.

Ahead of their game on Sunday afternoon, Ozzie had some very interesting things to say. As already stated, he made it very clear that he wants to manage again. He also thinks that nobody knows this club more than him right now.

If the White Sox made a move like this, it would obviously make headlines for weeks. It would be the biggest storyline of the offseason. The man who managed them to a World Series title would be back and a lot of people would be happy about it.

Of course, the White Sox should interview as many candidates as possible. With that said, they shouldn’t shut the door on Ozzie just because he has been there and done that. Very few people will have the care for this team that he does. You never know.
