Jacob deGrom would look amazing in a Chicago White Sox uniform next year.

Imagine if the rotation that has guys like Dylan Cease, Micahel Kopech, and Lance Lynn were to add an absolute stud like Jacob deGrom. That would probably form one of the best rotations in the history of the franchise. It is certainly an expense to consider if deGrom would listen to an offer.

He has a player option after this season but it feels likely that he opts out. He is going to look to cash in as he isn’t getting any younger. Throughout his career, he has been one of the best pitchers in the history of the sport.

He has two Cy Young Awards and another four top-ten finishes on top of that. In addition, he has been a Rookie of the Year, a four-time All-Star, and the winner of an ERA title. deGrom has been a bit injured over the last year but appears to be healthy now.

Jacob deGrom dominated his one playoff start in 2022. The one game that New York won was started by deGrom who was trying to get in a rhythm this year after missing the first half. Now that he is healthy and pitching well again, he will cash in.

If the White Sox added him, he could also help guys like Lucas Giolito and Michael Kopech become elite starters. With Dylan Cease there, the potential would be through the roof. It might be a pipe dream but it is certainly fun to think about.
