Meet The Team
Adrian White
Adrian White is a passionate baseball enthusiast and lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, currently enrolled in the Sports Management Program at Florida Atlantic University. Having played baseball from Little League through high school, he has always been deeply connected to the game. While he doesn’t have professional writing experience, he is eager to share his love for the sport—especially the White Sox—and explore a potential path in sports writing. Beyond playing, Adrian has gained experience in various aspects of the baseball world. He worked at a baseball equipment store after high school, developing an in-depth understanding of gear, and later worked with Prospect Select, using a Flightscope radar to track pitches and analyze pitch metrics. Still exploring his career path, Adrian wants to try different roles in baseball to open as many opportunities as possible. Covering the White Sox allows him to blend his passion for the team with his growing experience in the sport.
Eric Cole
I started my career writing about baseball covering the Atlanta Braves for SB Nation's Talking Chop back in 2015 which has since been renamed Battery Power. After years of writing for those fine folks, I made the decision to take over as Site Expert at House That Hank Built before becoming a full-time MLB Staff Writer for FanSided in 2023. Along the way, I have been a guest on multiple ESPN radio affiliates as well as 680 The Fan and 92.9 The Game to discuss Braves baseball and especially Braves prospects and was a long-time host on the Battery Power podcast. These days, I continue to write about the Braves as well as covering the Astros, Padres, and Angels with particular expertise with minor league coverage, the MLB Draft, and bashing Anthony Rendon when possible. When I am not writing about or talking about baseball (which is seldom), I am an avid baseball card collector (Maddux and Soroka being my primary personal collections) and I also collect shark teeth. All other sports are mostly dead to me as my Bills have broken my heart too many times.
Noah Phalen
Noah is a contributor to Southside Showdown. A lifelong White Sox fan, he is excited to once again share his passion for the team with the White Sox community. He was previously a contributor for Sox on 35th for four plus seasons. Noah and his brother, Sam, also hosted the Put It On The Board Podcast. Outside of baseball, Noah is an avid TV and Movie lover, and also enjoys gaming with his friends.
Sam Phalen
Sam is a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan and the site expert for Southside Showdown. He has previously covered the Tennessee Titans and Vanderbilt Commodores as a beat reporter and host providing fans with informative and engaging content from inside the locker room.
Todd Welter
Raised in Johnsburg, IL., Todd is a diehard Bears, White Sox, and Blackhawks fan. Todd is a Marquette alum, so he is a huge Golden Eagles hoops fan too. He also supports the Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers. Todd is the host of the Locked on White Sox podcast. Todd is the current site expert of BlackhawkUp.com, along with being a long-time contributor to SouthsideShowdown.com and DaWindyCity.com. Todd has covered the Milwaukee Brewers, Bucks, Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers football & basketball, and Marquette basketball for Newsradio 620WTMJ and the Associated Press.
Zachary Cariola

About FanSided
The idea of FanSided was born in 2007, when two brothers felt that their favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, was being under-covered by the mainstream media. Taking matters into their own hands, they launched Arrowhead Addict, a move that would spawn the creation of FanSided in 2009, a network of over 300+ fan-powered unique sports, entertainment and lifestyle sites dedicated to team-specific, sport-specific, genre-specific, and fanbase-specific coverage. From sports, movies and TV to lifestyle and tech, FanSided has you covered.
