The Chicago White Sox didn't make it to the postseason in 2022. That doesn't mean that you had to completely ignore this amazing postseason that we just witnessed. It was an incredible tournament with some amazing stories all playoff long.
The Houston Astros finally ended it on Saturday night by winning the World Series over the Philadelphia Phillies. It is the first time that Houston has won it since 2017. Philadelphia was an amazing story this fall but they were outmatched by the Astros in most of this series.
We saw some incredible things with this Astros team in the World Series but nothing is better than seeing Dusty Baker win the first World Series of his career. It has been a long time coming but he has finally done it. He is a legend of the game at this point.
Now that this is all done, the Chicago White Sox can move on with their offseason. They have a lot of work to do after being one of the most disappointing teams in all of Major League Baseball. It is going to be very interesting to see what types of moves they are able to get done before Spring Training 2023.
The Chicago White Sox have a lot of work to do during this offseason.
They already made their managerial hire as Pedro Grifol will be the guy. He has already made a good first impression on the organization and the fans but they need to do some good work in order to keep those good vibes going.
There are a lot of roster things that need to happen in order for this thing to work in 2023. They need upgrades at positions like second base and right field while working out the log jam of designated hitter/first base types. It also won't hurt to work on the pitching staff as well.
It is a bit sad that the Major League Baseball season is over but now it is time to see what teams are able to make the best moves in order to be successful going forward. The White Sox have some good talent but they need to make smart choices going forward. It starts now.
