White Sox Departing Free Agent Update

One of these days Kevin Youkilis will sign a contract that lets us know where he’ll start the 2013 season. At the moment it looks like it will be with the Yankees, the offer on the table is reportedly 1 year/$12M, and now that the Indians have signed Mark Reynolds, it’s the only offer left that we know of. Still, Youk is taking his time in deciding if he’d like to accept or not.

A.J. Pierzynski is still trying to secure a home as well. Reports are that the Rangers are very much interested, while Buster Olney has commented that the Rays may be a fit, but there are folks out there that believe A.J. will ultimately return to the White Sox.

Brett Myers, still talking about trying to start and is being looked at by many teams in search of pitching help, including the Brewers, Royals, and Orioles.

Francisco Liriano has been in chats with his old team in Minnesota, but it hasn’t been going well. Liriano’s time with the White Sox was much like his time with the Twins, which is to say terribly inconsistent. Somebody will eventually give him a shot, but he’s not going to have to waste any energy chasing suitors off.
