The Chicago White Sox made another wave of roster cuts on Tuesday afternoon, trimming the active major league roster to just 31 players.

The White Sox optioned infielders Matt Davidson, Leury Garcia, and Carlos Sanchez to Triple-A Charlotte. They also sent right-handed pitcher Tommy Kahnle to Charlotte, and reassigned outfielder Jason Coats to minor league camp.

White Sox Manager Robin Ventura confirmed on Tuesday that outfielder J.B. Shuck will be on the 25 man roster come Opening Day without a doubt. That means that with just three Cactus League games left to impress, the 25th man, and back-up first-baseman role is up for grabs between Jerry Sands and Travis Ishikawa.

White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper also confirmed on Tuesday that the White Sox will head into Opening Day with 12 pitchers on the 25 man roster.
