How about those Chicago White Sox against teams over  the .500 mark? With two consecutive wins against the Detroit Tigers, the “Good Guys” are looking to take the series for the AL Central leaders this evening at US Cellular Field.

The White Sox dominated the sixth inning on Wednesday, allowing them to defend their home field against Justin Verlander by an 8-2 score, including the 19th home runs of the season by Jose Abreu.

Abreu also had has 50th RBI of the season in the White Sox win.

The White Sox enter tonight’s game 2.5 games out of first place in the division, with a 33-33 overall record.

At home this season the White Sox are 19-14, and against the Tigers they are 4-4 on the year.

Tonight’s game is a must-see with two All-Star pitchers taking the mound for both the White Sox and the Tigers. It will be Chris Sale (5-0, 2.06 ERA) vs. Max Scherzer (7-2, 3.38 ERA).

More from White Sox News

This game can’t get here soon enough, but more on that in a post later today.

It looks like maybe, just maybe, the White Sox could be turning that corner to becoming a consistent winner this season, but I don’t want to get too ahead of the schedule just yet.

This ball club will have to prove to everyone in baseball they are a serious contender by their play on the field for more than just a couple wins in a row. At least they are starting to make things exciting again.
