The Chicago White Sox announced when pitchers and catchers will report to spring training, as they are scheduled to begin their workouts on Friday, Feb. 20.

On the day the White Sox report to spring training a total of 13 teams will officially report, including the rival Chicago Cubs, and from the AL Central the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers and the American League champion Kansas City Royals.

The Minnesota Twins report to spring training on Monday, Feb. 23.

This past season the White Sox finished with a 73-89 record, fourth in the AL Central.

For the White Sox the pitchers currently on the 40-man roster are: Chris Sale, Jeff Samardzija, Jose Quintana, John Danks, David Robertson, Zach Duke, Javy Guerra, Jake Petricka, Zach Putnam, Maikel Cleto, Erik Johnson, Hector Noesi, Eric Surkamp, Daniel Webb, Nate Jones (injured), Michael Ynoa, Dan Jennings, Raul Fernandez, Onelki Garcia and Francellis Montas.

Most likely also gaining an invite to spring training and has a very good chance of making the roster either in a starting or reliever role is No. 1 prospect Carlos Rodon. Rodon is a wild card for the White Sox, because they can use him a couple ways, but if he makes the MLB roster in ’15 it will most likely be in the bullpen.

Rodon was selected with the No. 3 overall pick this past June in the 2014 First-Year Player Draft by the White Sox.

Next: Chris Beck could be White Sox dark horse in '15

There will be other invites, but these are the pitchers currently on the 40-man roster.

Catchers on the current 40-man roster are Tyler Flowers, Rob Brantly, Adrian Nieto and Kevan Smith.

I don’t know about anyone else, but Feb. 20 can’t arrive fast enough, and let’s not forget the first full team workout for the White Sox will be on Feb. 24. Cactus League play begins on March 3.
