Tim Anderson, and Carson Fulmer headline Spring Training invites
The Chicago White Sox invited 20 non-roster players to attend spring training on February 19 when the Sox report for the first full squad workout of 2016.
Headlining the non-roster invitees is of course the White Sox two top prospects Tim Anderson, and Carson Fulmer. In addition to Anderson and Fulmer the White Sox extended invites to six other top 30 prospects in their minor league system including; pitchers Tyler Danish (#5), and Jordan Guerrero (#9). As well outfielders Courtney Hawkins (#7), Jacob May (#8), Adam Engel (#14), and Jason Coates (#17).
Anderson of course is the top prospect who has been dubbed as the future at the shortstop position, and is expected to contest Tyler Saladino for the starting position in spring training. Look for Tim Anderson to put up a strong showing this spring much like the performance that former second-basemen Micah Johnson displayed last spring to earn the starting job.

Fulmer is last years top draft choice for the White Sox out of Vanderbilt University. While Fulmer is not expected to be a part of the major-league roster in 2016, you never really know. Last season Carlos Rodon made his debut in late April, and never looked back after. Fulmer had and ERA under two in nine starts last season for the Winston-Salem Dash after being signed by the White Sox, and was looked at as an MLB ready pitcher within a short period of time much like Carlos Rodon was coming out of N.C. State the summer prior.
Outside of the players invited that rank inside of the top 30 prospects for the White Sox, they also extended invites to the following non-roster players; right handed pitchers Phillipe Aumont, Colin Kleven, Matt Lollis, and Josh Wall. Left handed pitchers Matt Purke, Nik Turley, and Hector Sanchez. Infielders Steve Lombardozzi, and Andy Parrino round out the list of non-roster invites.
