Weekly report on White Sox minor league affiliates including links for daily results
The White Sox received an injury scare this past week when one of its top pitching prospects in Spencer Adams, injured his ankle after delivering a pitch for Single-A Winston-Salem Dash. Adams was pitching against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on July 7 when his right ankle was injured after he delivered a pitch. Adams will miss 1-2 starts as the Dash expect him to be out 7-10 days after the injury. The 2014 second-round pick was 7-7 this season with a 4.07 ERA for the Dash.
As Adams will recover from his injury, the White Sox 2016 first-round pick made his professional debut last week for the Arizona League White Sox. Zack Collins made his professional debut on July 6 and went 1-for-3. However, Collins has struggled in his previous two games with five strikeouts and no hits.

Zack Burdi, the White Sox other first-round pick in the 2016 draft was promoted to Double-A Birmingham Barons on July 5. While it appears this is setting up a quick promotion through the system for Burdi, the Downers Grove, Ill. native struggled in his debut for the Barons on July 6. In the contest against the Chattanooga Lookouts, Burdi walked four batters and gave up four earned runs in one inning. Burdi didn’t record an out and only allowed one hit. His second appearance was much better on July 9 as he pitched one scoreless inning with two strikeouts against the Jacksonville Suns.
The White Sox 2015 first-round pick Carson Fulmer was placed on the USA All-Star Futures team. Fulmer has been pitching better recently for the Barons. In his last three starts, Fulmer has given up just two earned runs with 22 strikeouts. In his brief appearance in the All-Star Futures game on Sunday at Petco Park in San Diego, Fulmer notched two strikeouts in a scoreless inning pitched.
