White Sox: Carson Fulmer, Dane Dunning Enjoy Solid Outings
White Sox pitching prospects have solid outings for their respective teams on Tuesday. South Siders pitching prospects doing well overall to start season.
Chicago White Sox pitching prospcets Carson Fulmer and Dane Dunning had solid outings on Tuesday for their respective teams. Fulmer pitched 5.1 innings for Triple-A Charlotte Knights while Dunning pitched five innings in his first start for Class A Advanced Winston-Salem Dash.
Fulmer had his third consecutive solid outing for the Knights on Tuesday against the Norfolk Tides. The 23-year-old right hander allowed just two hits to the Tides while recording two strikeouts in an 8-3 Knights victory over Norfolk. Fulmer did however issue five walks to the Tides. The 2015 first round pick lasted 5.1 innings pitched as his pitch count was at 85 when he was taken out.

The Sox have to like the results they’ve gotten from Fulmer early this season with Charlotte. Fulmer is 3-1 with a 3.18 ERA through five starts for the Knights. In his previous start on April 25, Fulmer recored a season-high eight strikeouts on the road against the Toledo Mud Hens. Fulmer hasn’t allowed more than one earned run in any start since his second outing of the season on April 12 against the Durham Bulls. He allowed five earned runs in that game.
Another Sox top pitching prospect Dunning, also had a solid outing on Tuesday. In his first start for the Dash, Dunning pitched five scoreless innings for Winston-Salem against the Lynchburg Hillcats. The 2016 first round pick allowed just one walk while recording three strikeouts. Dunning hasn’t allowed an earned run in any of his five starts this season.

Both Fulmer and Dunning solid starts continues a string of success Sox pitching prospects have enjoyed over the past three days. After Reynaldo Lopez posted a quality start on Sunday, Fulmer and Danning recording solid outings on Tuesday. Lucas Giolito will look to continue the recent luck with a start on Wednesday.
