White Sox fourth ranked prospect extends scoreless inning streak to nine for Triple-A Charlotte. Knights young pitcher records fifth win of the season.
Chicago White Sox fourth ranked prospect Reynaldo Lopez continued to impress on the mound this season with another solid outing on Tuesday. The 23-year-old pitched five scoreless innings and recorded six strikeouts for Triple-A Charlotte.
The Knights were able to extend its winning streak to six games with a 5-3 victory over the Durham Bulls. Lopez with the win is now 5-1 on the season and hasn’t given up an earned run since the first inning against the Louisville Bats on May 11. Lopez lowered his ERA to 3.14. While the Sox starting rotation is struggling due to a lack of depth, Lopez has steadily improved with Charlotte.

Many Sox fans might want to see the Sox promote Lopez soon, but he still has work to do with the Knights. Although Lopez pitched five scoreless innings, he threw 93 pitches while allowing three walks and wasn’t able to remain in the game longer. With Charlotte, Lopez can continue harnessing his ability to pitch more innings consistently.
Another Sox pitching prospect, Spencer Adams wasn’t as fortunate as Lopez on Tuesday. The 11th ranked Sox prospect allowed four runs on nine hits to the Chattanooga Lookouts of Double-A. The Birmingham Barons lost its seventh consecutive game 4-1. With the loss, Adams moved to 1-6 on the season and saw his ERA climb to 4.37.
Alec Hansen, the Sox ninth ranked prospect had a solid outing for the Kannapolis Intimidators of Class A. Hansen pitched 6.2 scoreless innings and recorded seven strikeouts against the Rome Braves. Kannapolis was able to defeat Rome 5-1 on Tuesday.

Zack Collins, the Sox sixth ranked prospect hit his fifth home run of 2017 for Class A Advanced Winston-Salem. Despite the home run from Collins, the Dash were defeated by the Lynchburg Hillcats in 10 innings 8-6. Collins owns a slash line of .225/.389./.396 with 19 RBI’s for Winston-Salem this season.
