White Sox MiLB Report: Lucas Giolito Records 11 Strikeouts
White Sox fourth ranked prospects post season-high in strikeouts with another quality start. The right-hander has continued to improve this since no-hitter.
Chicago White Sox fourth ranked prospect Lucas Giolito had yet another impressive start on Monday night. Giolito, pitching for Triple-A Charlotte posted his third quality start of this season and recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts through six innings pitched.
The 22-year-old pitcher gave up just one earned run and allowed only two walks to the Durham Bulls. Although Giolito had a solid outing, the Knights would lose to the Bulls 6-1. The start for Giolito was his third consecutive outing of recording three or more strikeouts.

Since starting the season with an 0-5 record and 6.55 ERA, Giolito has pitched a seven-inning no-hitter and recorded double digit strikeouts for the first time in 2017. With his start on Monday, Giolito lowered his ERA to 4.95.
Charlotte was defeated by Bulls starter Blake Snell. The 24-year-old pitcher lasted eight innings while only giving up one earned run. Sox top prospect Yoan Moncada went 0-for-4 with one strikeout for the Knights. Moncada hasn’t recorded a hit in his last three games.

The Knights were the only White Sox stateside affliate to play on Monday. The Dominican Summer League began for the Sox this past Sunday. Luis Robert, who officially signed with the Sox on May 27 hasn’t appeared in a game yet for the DSL White Sox. The DSL team is 1-1.
