White Sox MiLB Report: Eloy Jimenez Has Huge Game for Winston-Salem
White Sox second ranked prospect has another huge game for Single-A Advanced Winston-Salem, including hitting a mammoth home run.
The Chicago White Sox could have a future superstar outfielder in the making in Eloy Jimenez. The team’s second ranked prospect according to mlbpipeline.com had another huge game for Single-A Advanced Winston-Salem on Sunday.
Jimenez went 5-for-6 with a home run and three RBIs which included a game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Salem Red Sox. The 20-year-old outfielder would help the Dash to an 11-10 11 inning comeback victory. Jimenez has been stellar since joining the White Sox organization as part of a return package from the Cubs in exchange for Jose Quintana on July 13.

The outfielder is hitting .452/.514/.806 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in nine games with the Dash thus far. If Jimenez continues hitting well for Winston-Salem, he could finish the season with Double-A Birmingham. The Sox certainly need more power in the lineup moving forward, and Jimenez is looking like he will be a great fit for the team in a few seasons.
While Jimenez had a solid day offensively for the Dash, Triple-A Charlotte starting pitcher Tyler Danish had a nice outing on the mound on Sunday. Danish pitched six innings for the Knights while allowing just two earned runs in a 5-3 victory for Charlotte over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
Danish improved his record to 3-9 with the win and lowered his ERA to 4.42. The 2013 second round draft pick has now recorded three quality starts in his last five outings. Although he’s been somewhat inconsistent as a starter for the Knights, the Sox should give Danish an opportunity to log some innings out of the bullpen. With a mediocre bullpen after recent trades, the Sox could have Danish attempt to continue his development at the major league level.
