Top prospect Yoan Moncada of the Chicago White Sox injured his right knee and had to be carted off the field Monday. The second baseman collided with right fielder Willy Garcia. Moncada’s knee caught Garcia in the side of the head. Moncada was carted off and Garcia walked off on his own power.
The White Sox announced Moncada would be day-to-day with a bruised right knee after x-rays were negative. Garica is day-to-day with a head contusion. It sounds like both players will be okay. Lucky for Sox fans the injury wasn’t more serious.

The White Sox did manage to pull of the victory in walk-off fashion. Trailing 6-5 in the ninth, Jose Abreu hit an RBI single. Then, Matt Davidson singled home the winning run.
It was great to see this team comeback. Especially after seeing two of their guys injured in a scary way. A more serious injury would definitely be a step back for Moncada. Don’t expect the team to rush him back after his injury. They should give him all the time he needs to heel.
