White Sox All-Star begins rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. Young outfielder looking to return to South Side lineup soon.

The Chicago White Sox offense lost some production when Avisail Garcia was placed on the 10-day disabled list on July 26 with a strained ligament in his right thumb. Garcia hasn’t played since July 25 and on Monday he began what could be a short rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte.

Garcia went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts for the Knights in a 7-0 loss against the Pawtucket Red Sox. The 26-year-old outfielder is having a good season for the Sox as he appeared in his first All-Star Game and is hitting .303/.347/.485 with 13 home runs and 54 RBIs. The White Sox could surely use Garcia’s bat back in the lineup very soon.
