The Sox will play a total of three games against the Cubs during Spring Training, so Jimenez should get a lot of opportunities to face the organization that originally signed him. Jose Quintana could pitch against the Sox next spring which could present an intriguing matchup between him and Jimenez.
Other Sox prospects that could get invited to Spring Training include Michael Kopech, Alec Hansen, and Luis Robert. None of these players should be expected to leave camp with the Sox, but they can gain some valuable experience participating in Spring Training.
Kopech is most likely the closest to the majors out of all the aforementioned Sox prospects. The Sox top pitching prospect ended this past season in Triple-A and could very well be promoted to the major leagues sometime next year.
